The program is done. Workshops placed, panels organised, we’ve even allocated some rooms – excellent 🙂
A letter will be going out to potential panellists who are either already members or got in touch committing to attend, inviting them to participate in panels that the programming commitee, aka Donna and Nicole, thought appropriate. Thanks to third member of the committee, Maxine McArthur, for doing the grunt work on that. By early February, we’ll be able to start showing you a full program, with confirmed panellists.
Does this mean that if you want to participate, or you’ve got an idea for Conflux, that you’ve missed your chance? Not at all. Email conflux9 at gmail dot com to let us know. But note the following:
a) We are taking no more workshops. We’re full to the brim. Done.
b) The panels and such are set and there’s little room for adding additional panels so while we want to hear your ideas (because if you give us a brilliant one we will move heaven and hell to make it happen) be prepared to hear a ‘no’.
c) We have more flexibility in moving panellists around and not all the panels are full – List of panels is here – so please feel free to nominate yourself for some. We’re limiting numbers on panels and the number of people doing panels because there’s a lot of people wanting to be involved, and not enough panels. If we ran the con over a week, we’d be right…
d) The programming committee won’t be looking at the program again until February, so you won’t hear about your fab idea or your participation until mid-February. In other words – don’t expect us to instantly change the program and tell you what you’re doing right away. We need a set process in order for the changes to be dealt with efficiently and fairly to all.
Workshops will go on sale at the end of January and we’ve got some absolute rippers this time, as well as some old favourites that continue to draw the crowds.
We’re really excited about the fabulous program that has been pulled together for Conflux 9. It’s going to be an awesome con!
